Being a parent in the world today is a real challenge, especially for believers. There is so much more that a parent has to be aware of and consider in raising a child than ever before.
I don’t have to tell you that your child is at risk in so many ways. You cannot turn your head or some sick person might harm your child in some way. You have to be aware of what your kids are watching on TV, or seeing on the computer, or what computer games they are playing because of the negative and damaging influences. You have to be aware of what they are being taught in school, and what kinds of friends they hang out with.
It is a very great responsibility. It is not easy. Throw in the other challenges of life like shaky marriages or a tough job situation and many other problems and raiding your child becomes even more difficult.
What you need is a great big dose of wisdom to sort things out and make wise decisions so that your children are raised in the best way possible regardless of the circumstance. God tells us that His is wisdom available for us and all we have to do to get it is ask.
“If you need wisdom, ask God to give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” James 1:5 NLT
God knows the kinds of challenges you face in this world because He sent Jesus to experience life in this world. Not only does God have firsthand experience with what it is like to live in this world, but His heart goes out to you. He has deep concern and great compassion for you as you struggle with the daily challenges in this world.
God not only knows the all facts about your situation, He also knows the exasperation, frustration, disappointment, heartache, pain and suffering you are experiencing as well.
Why depend on your limited human resources to deal with and overcome these huge problems by yourself when God offers wisdom to deal with all of your issues? Why not let God help you raise your kids?
God tells His people to “ask Him for wisdom, and He will gladly give it to you.”
So, if it seems like you are at a total loss as what to do about your kids, talk to God. Tell Him what the problem is. Tell him you need. Ask Him what to do. Remember, God knows more about your situation than you do and He wants to help you.
All you have to do is ask. Start over today. Ask God for His wisdom and then listen to what He says and then do it!
Have a great day!
