One of the things that God has made sure of is that His followers have access to Him at any time. God made this possible the day that Jesus died on the cross when He tore the veil in two that separated the people from Him from top to bottom. Now, because of Jesus, every Christian can go straight to God, unrestricted.
What a blessing it is to be able to go directly to God at any time and bring to Him whatever is troubling you! What an incredible and loving God we have! You need not be nervous or reluctant, but you can enter into His presence with complete confidence!
Hebrews 4:16 NCV Let us, then, feel very secure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it.
During my time as an editorial cartoonist, I had the privilege of being with four presidents. I met with and talked to Presidents Ford, Carter, Reagan, and Bush (the first) several times. My experience of being in the presence of great men of stature, authority and power was more than a little intimidating.
Each of these men had a presence about them that made you sit up straight and pay close attention. You knew you were with very important people. Such in not the case with your Heavenly Father. Your relationship with Him is far different than with a man or woman of great position.
When you enter into the presence of Almighty God, you can do so with complete calm and confidence. Because God is your Father, you are very secure. No anxiety; no intimidation; no fear. This is the circumstance in which you bring your need to God.
When you share whatever is troubling you, your loving Father cares, understands and is kind. God does not scold you as you share with Him your trouble or problem and say, “What were you thinking?!” or “Suck it up!” or “Quit whining!”
No, God loves you so much that He puts His big arms around you and tenderly sympathizes with you regardless of the circumstances of how or why you are reeling. This is the kind of reception you receive from your Father.
Even though you might be totally responsible for the mess you are in, or not, God tenderly cares for you and gives you mercy, regardless. As God hears your requests, He wraps you in compassion and tender mercy. This is love. God not only is merciful, but He acts on your request. This is called grace.
Grace is God’s provision and enablement that empowers you to deal with your trouble or problem. Grace is God’s power and wisdom that you need to overcome the troubling issue your are struggling with.
Are you struggling with something today? Well, if you are a child of God, He invites you to come into His presence and crawl up into His lap and cry a good cry. Let it all out. Your Heavenly Father will hug you tight with unlimited love and say like every good dad says, “Everything will be alright!”
This is the kind of relationship God wants form His children. Don’t wait. Go see your Father right now. God bless you all, Dick
