Merry Christmas! I will be taking a little break from my weekly posting and will be back the first of the year. I want to thank all of you who have taken time to read my posts and all the kind comments you have sent to me this past year.
I pray that God will bless you all in 2017!
This Sunday we celebrate Christmas. This day is very important to Christians all over the world as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and all He has done for mankind.
We have so many things we can celebrate this week. One of those things is joy. There is a Christmas song we all have sung many times called, “Joy to the World.” The birth of Jesus brought “joy to the world!”
Because of Jesus there are many wonderful things that we now have access to that are called “fruits of the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:22) Joy is one of them. Joy means, “calm delight, gladness, exceedingly joyful.”
This joy that Jesus made possible is seen in a calm delight that comes from this very special relationship with Jesus. It is a joyful experience to know Jesus and that He is always present and is always there for you and this brings a delightful calm into your life.
There is sense of continual gladness that you are a child of God and that He cares for you and watches over you continually. This kind of relationship with Jesus leads to exceeding joy.
Proverbs 15:13 A glad heart makes a happy face.
Knowing this joy deep down changes your attitude and demeanor. It makes you happy and can be seen on your face! And this change in your attitude and demeanor has an impact on others.
Proverbs 15:30 NLT A cheerful look brings joy to the heart.
Your inner joy makes others happy as well. When your demeanor is pleasant and you have a big smile on your face and cheerful comment, you bring joy to others. You make their day! Do you see how the birth of Jesus even impacts those who do not know Him?! Can you see how the world is better off because this little baby was born?!
There are other blessings that come from Jesus, as well. It is a proven fact that happy people have fewer health problems than stressed out, upset or angry people. Inner joy keeps emotional conflicts from destroying your health. God tells us this as well.
Proverbs 17:22 NLT A cheerful heart is good medicine.
So, Merry Christmas! Let the joy that comes from Jesus be seen by all! Be happy! Be thankful!
Let your good and happy attitude and demeanor become your daily habit! Be quick with a smile and an encouraging word!
Bring a moment of pleasantness to others! Let others see just how much Jesus loves them through you!
Be of good cheer and health!
