Teaching, Helping and Encouraging Spiritual Growth

Are You A Spiritual Marine?

The Marines have a recruiting slogan “We are looking for a few good men (and women)”. To be a Marine it takes more than just signing up at the recruiters office. The Marines are looking for exceptionally loyal men and women who are willing to endure the rigors of boot camp and be broken down and built back up into an elite fighting force. This takes loyalty, commitment, determination, sacrifice, grit and toughness.

In the same way, God is looking for good men and women who are totally committed to Him and the mission He has for them. God is looking for men and women who are loyal to Him to be Spiritual Marines.

2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole world, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

God is looking for believers who are willing to go through His boot camp and be broken down and built back up into a new person that demonstrates God’s Mighty strength in their life.  Are you willing to do whatever it takes to be more like Jesus and less like your old self? Do you want to be a Spiritual Marine?

God is actively looking for men and women who have what it takes to be real disciples of Jesus. The title of “Disciple of Jesus” does not come easy. There is a saying that is true: “Salvation is free, but discipleship costs you everything.” This takes loyalty.

What is LOYALTY?

1. The quality of being loyal.
2. Feelings of allegiance.
3. The act of binding yourself (intellectually or emotionally) to a course of action.

Regardless of where you are in your walk with God, or where you have been as a believer, loyalty is still a key prerequisite to spiritual growth. Why?

Because spiritual growth and maturity follow loyalty. Loyalty is a prerequisite to being a strong and confident servant of Jesus. You must be loyal to God to be a disciple!

Loyalty to God is the quality of not compromising the standards God has given to His people to live by. When God’s children turn away from His standards and yield to sinful temptation, they are being disloyal to God.

Loyalty is maintaining your allegiance to God over the long haul. Loyalty does not waver. Loyalty does not forget who the King of kings is. Loyalty honors, respects and revers God. Paying no attention to God is disloyal.

Loyalty to God is living like Jesus. When you live like Jesus, your loyalty to God is clearly seen. Loyalty is a proactive life that represents who God is and what God is like to those you see daily. Conforming to the likeness of Jesus is being loyal to God. Loyalty is being faithful to God. Unfaithfulness is being disloyal to God.

So, here is the question. Are you loyal to God? When God’s eyes go “to and fro around the world”, do they stop and focus on you and bring a smile to His face? …. Or not… ?

You know what to do to be loyal to God. Now, do it. Get real with God. No more disloyal behavior.

Start this week with a commitment to be LOYAL TO GOD!

Have a great exciting week!
